Sharing one device between kids

Siblings can share one tablet. Choose whether they switch freely or need your PIN.

Each kid's practice counts on their own progress page. When kids share a device, make sure the right kid is signed in.

Pair it for more than one kid

When you pair the device, check the box next to every kid who will use it. See Set up your kid's device.

Two ways to switch

  • Ask for my Parent PIN to switch kids. This is the default. Your kid can pick a different kid, but the device asks for your PIN first.
  • Kids can switch on their own. Your kid taps Switch and picks their avatar. No PIN.

You choose when you pair the device. To change it later, open parent mode, pick an option under Switching kids, and tap Save.

Switch kids

  1. On the home screen, tap Switch in the top corner. It only shows when more than one kid uses the device.
  2. Tap the kid who's practicing.
  3. If the device asks for your PIN, enter it. Then tap the kid again.

You can also open parent mode and tap the kid there.

Add a kid to a device that's already paired

A device keeps the kids you checked when you paired it. To add another kid:

  1. Add the new kid on your phone, if you haven't yet.
  2. On the device, open parent mode.
  3. Under Kids on this device, check the new kid. Tap Save.

Uncheck a kid the same way to take them off the device. Nothing is lost. Progress belongs to each kid, not to the device.

See all your devices

Open any of your kids' progress pages on your phone. The Devices list shows each paired device, when it was last used, and whether switching needs your PIN. Tap Remove to sign one out.

Hand your own phone to a kid (kid mode)

No tablet handy? Your phone can be a kid's device for a while.

  1. Set a Parent PIN if you haven't yet.
  2. On your home screen, under Hand your phone to, tap your kid.
  3. Your phone becomes their device: practice, games, duels, badges, their whole profile.

While kid mode is on, your parent and leader screens are locked, even if someone types the address. To get your phone back, tap the lock in the corner, enter your PIN, and tap Exit kid mode.
